Ysidro Reyes Velasco working in West Hollywood.

Flores, Flowers

I travel Forest Lawn Dr. often on my way to visit my family in the Inland Empire and I can't help but admire the flower sellers. They become invisible at the sight of the police, but bloom and emerge to provide convenience for those seeking it. In this large city of Los Angeles, they are representations of the struggles of those at the bottom of the economic ladder, spending their time on the run in the hot sun, while others enjoy their weekends.

Some work trucks are bigger than others

There is something beautiful about a parked worktruck, motionless and glowing in the Southern California sunlight. They roam the west end of Los Angeles, and stop, like resting beasts in front of their jobsites, miles devoted to chasing the american dream.

Gracias Marisol, see you next week.

"We need you to do this, and this, and this, oh and don't forget this, wait, I'm not sure about this, but definitely do this, and then when you're finished with that, do this"

Rodrigo's worktruck

I was done babysitting for the day in Laurel Canyon and I came across this guy sweeping the leaves. He swept quietly as I watched, unaware he had an audience. I was captivated.
